Pacing Guide

Grade Recovery: You should always do your best work first, but if you find you earn a grade on a portfolio that you don't like, you may resubmit up to one time each.

• Unit 1 - Just Starting Out: Thinking About Careers

  • Portfolio/Activity I: Please watch this short Live Lesson recording to get you off to a strong start! 

  • If you would like, you can use THIS WORKSHEET to help you know what to write about for this assignment.

• Unit 2 - Knowledge and Innovation

  • REQUIRED: Watch this VERY SHORT SCREENCAST, and then get to work! 

  • In this portfolio, you are going to analyze 3 different people to evaluate what career might be good for them and why. 

  • I have made a worksheet you can fill in if you don't want to create your own document, but you will still need to read about each of the 3 people in this lesson. 

  • CLICK HERE to get the worksheet. 

  • You will need to download (File>Download) or make a copy (File>Make a Copy) to be able to edit it. 

  • To submit it to your dropbox, download it as a PDF and submit that document.

• Unit 3 - Planners, Builders, Innovators

  • For this assignment, you can use PowerPoint, Google Slides, or OpenOffice Impress. Whatever you have for presentations software is just fine! 

  • Watch this SHORT LESSON and then complete the portfolio. 

  • I have created a Google Slides presentation to help you with this assignment. You need to make a copy of it (File>Make a Copy) or download it (File>Download) to edit it.

• Unit 4 - Enterprise and Money Matters

  • For this assignment, you can use PowerPoint, Google Slides, or OpenOffice Impress. Whatever you have for presentations software is just fine! 

  • Watch this very SHORT LESSON (you will be glad you did!) and then complete the portfolio.

  • As usual, I have created  GOOGLE SLIDE TEMPLATE to help you with this portfolio. Open it up and get started!

• Unit 6 - Law & Order: Helping Communities Flourish

  • Watch this SHORT LESSON first (you'll be glad you did), then get going on the lesson! 

  • If you prefer to make a presentation such as PowerPoint or Google Slides rather than a mindmap, that is okay. I even have a GOOGLE SLIDE TEMPLATE for you!

• Unit 7 - Entertaining & Exploring

  • Please watch the SHORT LESSON RECORDING (3 minutes) prior to starting this lesson. You will be glad you did!​

  • I have also  created a WORKSHEET FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT so you don't have to type it out from scratch.

• Unit 8 - Progressive and Adaptable

  • You will be watching a Ted Talk first, then you will complete the assignment. 

  • Make sure you don't skip the step of watching the Ted Talk or the rest of the portfolio will not make sense! :D

  • I have created a DOCUMENT to help you with this portfolio. 

• Unit 9 - Your Turn! Chosing a Career Path

  • As usual, I have created a DOCUMENT to help you with this assignment. You will review each career cluster according to the instructions, which are both in the lesson and in the document, type your answers into this document, save your changes, and submit to the drop box. 

  • This is a final project and will take some time to complete. Please allow yourself the time to do your best work!
